Chamonix Mont-Blanc is one of the most unusual resorts in the French Alps, as it offers all year long multiple outdoors sports activities in a unique setting.
Chamonix is located at the foot of the highest peak in Europe, Mont Blanc (4809 m), between Switzerland and Italy. The glacier and its mountain draw visitors from around the world, both for tourism (3rd most visited natural site in the world) and for alpine climbing and mountain sports.

the cable car of the Aiguille du Midi is one of the highest in the world, connecting the city center from 1100m to 3845m at the top of the Aiguille du Midi. The stunning Mer de glace, 35 sq km glacier, is accessible by the traditional railway of Montenvers.

Chamonix is also the starting point of medium and high mountain trekking including the Tour du Mont-Blanc, 170km trail.
